When I read this it made me feel very emotional and connected to the story because it is very relatable even though I have never been in her circumstances. The first thing that made me really connect to the story was when she had brought up leaving Bosnia in the heat of a war which shows how someones. Even though I cannot relate to this I felt this because this shows an example of how someone’s life can change drastically within a short amount of time. Another part that made me feel somewhat emotional was when she had said that the only the thing she can carry with her in her life is knowledge and that she took it very seriously and this is something that I learned at a young age also because my parents had put this in my head at a young age that material things are not things you keep forever and only knowledge can carry you so far. The next thing that was important was when they brought up the homeless shelters because I know that they exist but I never knew there were different kinds of shelters. It gave me a better perspective on the loneliness and struggles of being homeless even though I already knew it was a difficult path to take in your life. Overall this text had many things that just makes the reader feel certain emotions that connect to the text.
